Not the same as the usual Counties of England which Jaques also produced from approximately 1870 onwards, This set, called Counties of Britain also included Scotland, Fort William, Western Highlands, Edinburgh, Lossiemouth, Montrose and Aberdeen etc etc. The English Counties are Cambridgeshire, Northumberland, Suffolk, Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Durham, Yorkshire, Essex.
The cards depict beautiful famous railway posters in Sepia produced by the London and North Eastern Railway, describing each town or district.

SCARCE card game, produced as a film tie-in for MGM’s most popular 1939 Hollywood film releases, issued just at the time when WW2 began.
Some of the stars pictured include…………… Mickey Rooney, Robert Taylor, Myrna Loy, Clark Gable, James Stewart, Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan, Joan Crawford, Norma Shearer, etc etc. The cards show scenes from different films, plus a unique special Joker.
The sketches for these cards have been created from photographs taken during the production of the films and all cards are in full colour.
45 cards complete in very nice condition, with a small 6-page fold-out booklet with rules. But the original box is in poor condition, with knocks and splits along the edges.		 £100.00

GAM383		    card game “The Game of Birds” was produced by the West & Lee Game Company of Worcester, Mass. U.S.A. around 1873. The idea of this card game is to attempt to collect sets of Birds from the deck of 64 cards. The deck contains 64 cards, divided in 8 groups of bird types, Each group contains 4 bird cards showing pictures of birds and 4 corresponding description cards. There are several game variations described in the 8 page rules booklet. The cards are in excellent very good condition, but the outer box is falling apart, sorry.
